I would like to receive alerts on when someone replies to my message or sends me a thanks, etc. Similar to facebook.

ALERT! I'm replying to your message, and thanking you for this!

Seriously, though, I like your idea.

Yes, maybe a little icon of a broken head next to my name and there is a number next to it to show how many people have replied to my posts or thanked or hugged, etc.

Since this feature was readily available, we added "alerts" to your "Your Notifications" system up in the upper-right hand corner of the screen (where you receive notifications of your PMs, visitor messages, etc.).

Any thread you now subscribe to will show up as a new alert type up there. We'll see how that works for members over the next few days before we decide to keep this mod permanently.

1. Now i get a page or so of the above message repeated when i hit "new posts".

2. I think the OP meant his own posts, not his subscribed threads. Now that number is meaningless to me. It used to tell me i had a pm or a profile message.

1. Agreed, so we'll remove the feature until we can fix that error.

2. I don't know what the OP meant until he responds back to this thread. You already have a notification when someone responds to a PM, so not sure what exactly he was looking for then if not alerts for threads/posts you replied to...

Perhaps the OP meant forum thread email alerts? If that's what they were implying then I think that would be a good idea as I find I also don't get any email notifications of replies to what I post to in a thread/conversation. It would be similar to Facebook. For example, if I post to a FB thread then I would immediately become subscribed to that thread and then would receive future notification emails if and when someone else has posted to that thread/conversation.

You can already do this... Go to My Profile, Edit My Options and look for Thread Subscription options:

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
