The Adult room I assume is for people 18 and above. But what about user created rooms? They too, I assume must follow the guidelines for PC. So that "anything goes" I will assume is within the rules.

So the question is, should there be some kind of indication that there will be a lot of mature topics in a user created room? Should minors be able to join?

Allowing the user who created the room to set an age limit seems like it would be a good idea.

And if they don't want to? That for me is a little unsettling.

You should be a little bit cautious about joining any member-created rooms if you're easily triggered or don't want to see certain kinds of topics, as topics in such rooms will more often than not be "anything goes."

I'm not easily triggered, I'm just a mother hen.. "think of the children!" type in this situation.

I guess I can be annoyingly protective.

sadly, Member Created Rooms are often the only ones with people in them, so that is where new people, and lonely people, and even desperate people go. i'm so sad about the way chat has changed in the last year, and i don't mean the program.

i was waiting in the lobby the other day for someone, and as people came in they stayed to chat a little, and before long we were having a great time, and then in comes one of the regular "room creators", and only one person even greeted him. the only comment he made was to sneer at a comment someone made. eventually he left and the conversation went on for a long time, with many different participants.

unfortunately, i cannot just sit around in chats like i used to, and support people. i am using a Passworded Room, most of the time when i'm here. i try to give the password to as many people as i can who would like a safe place to chat, but it's hard with the different times, and a year of disruptions. and of course, it excludes newcomers, who i used to enjoy meeting.

if you are reading this, and you consider yourself a friend, PM me in chat when you see me, and i'll send you the password.
best wishes~
Gus
