We are allowed to delete our posts though a certain time frame may apply. I wonder if you are unable to because you are a new member and 5 of your posts need to seen by a moderator. It's just a safety issue.

We place limits on deletion of posts so members don't play games with other members. Although rare, it's based upon prior negative experiences where some members use deletion of posts to manipulate or play games with the community.
