I'm not sure if this is the right place to pose this question, but here goes...

Is there a way to encourage a member to continue with PC and not violate posting rules? I've PM'ed the person in question and encouraged them to stay. I'm wondering if there is a way to encourage others to also reach out to this person.
Thanks for this!

its my understanding that its not up to the membership to correct other members with posting rules, its the moderators jobs to do that.

Its also my understanding that there is a rule somewhere saying no good bye threads my point is with out a good bye thread no one is going to know a member is leaving unless that member pm's someone. with thousands of members here I highly doubt someone who is leaving is going to send mass good bye pm's to everyone inviting them to know they are leaving.

so there probably isnt a way to do this unless the person leaving pm's their friends and then their friends pm them to ask them to stay.

my opinion is that if someone is going to leave the site thats their choice to do so, I have noticed that sometimes people ask that their accounts be deleted then they end up staying or they come back later so for me I dont worry about when someone tells me they are leaving the site, I wish them well and let them know Im here should they decide to stay.

You can PM other members whom may be friends of the person in question, and encourage them to send PMs as well to that person.

But yeah, in the end, it's that person's choice. It doesn't hurt to offer them some words of encouragement, but it may not be enough. Unfortunately, no community can be all the things needed to all the people.

Best,
DocJohn

But why does this person want to leave? Is it because of the rules or the lack of support ?

Cakeladie, I think answering this skates close to the limits of the guidelines. I don't believe I can speak to someone else's feelings/reasons.
