I've noticed more god talk in the health forums and distractions forums. Are we free now to bring agnosticism and atheism into our posts also?
Thanks for this!

Hello George,
If you see a post that you think goes against the guidelines, including religious talk, the best thing you can do is to hit the report button and let the moderating team deal with it. There are a lot of posts on the forums and not every post can be read by the moderators.
Thank you,

No, what I've seen doesn't bother me. I think they should be welcome to express their views if it isn't overdone. If their beliefs help them get through life I am not going to interfere with that. I was just curious to know if the guidelines had been relaxed. BTW I had no plans to make posts about my agnosticism

We don't have any "religious forums" here (outside of social groups, which are member-created places). We do have a spirituality forum where topics of spirituality -- but not religion -- can be discussed.

Our community guidelines recommend people refrain from posting on topics exclusively devoted to religion or politics, because people hold pretty strong beliefs about both. If you come across a post that focuses on religion (as opposed to just mentioning it in passing, or is not the focus of the post) in our community, you should feel free to report it.

looks like they avoided answering your question, which I interpret to mean, do not bring atheism into your posts
Thanks for this!

Mousebear, I took the replies to mean no "religious" talk of any kind, whether it's a specific religion, agnosticism or atheism.
Thanks for this!

No. Unlike religious individuals, who are affiliated with a system of behaviors, agnostics recognize it's impossible to make solid claims about God, while atheists deny the existence of a deity altogether. Both groups refrain from subscribing to religious doctrines.

Exactly. Agnostics don't believe there are any deities but we know that you can't prove a negative. That is basically what separates us from atheists.

I didn't know there was an ocd about religion. Is it a condition or the way you serve him, live him, honour him , revere him?

It's difficult not to talk about Christ on a forum when you feel loved up with him.
We've all had friends who are in love and never stop talking about their new man /woman well it's the same with the beloveds love for the lover/groom. It's a passion and the ultimate love story.

But if you want it diluted or restrained that's fair enough.

Oh wow. Well I was just talking to someone i call a spiritual advisor about this t other day. I told her that I'd been battling wrong thoughts ( paul said we would and to take captive every one). She says she perceives a cloud that has come down almost of this dark stuff. She sees it everywhere in her church and everyone is battling.

Sorry I haven't had time just yet to read your site but I want to, the subject is pertinent to Me.

I hope it encourages you for me to tell you that apparently the closer you get to him the heavier the thoughts can get. I just take a deep breath if they are rough and leave them at Calvary where they have been paid for in full and by his blood we can still be called pure.

I Don't make vows exactly. More resolutions but they are just as devastating if I fail do carry through on my resolve mind you Jesus died on cross because we are sinners, we have grace ( though this doesn't mean we are at Liberty to do what we like).. God bless❤️

That... is a loaded question I haven't read any specific guidelines on the subject but encouraging delusional thoughts and ideations is against my own rules and guidelines.

I agree with you.

I have a very close relationship with my Lesbian God. Her name is Our Lady of High Standards.

Like you, I bow before Her alter. It's so cool we agree!

Atheism isn't a religion but there is a similarity and they can be just as adamant in their belief and they also tend to proselytize. Agnostics tend to be live and let live. If your beliefs help you in your day to day life... if the help you to survive in a world that can be cruel and sad and hard to understand, then we feel it isn't our place to make you question those beliefs, as much as we'd like to do so. All we ask is that you keep those beliefs in their proper place. It's hard to be kind and gentle to people who tell you that something very bad awaits you due to your inability or refusal to live life based on anything other than reality.
Thanks for this!

Are you familiar with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence? I know a couple of members of the NYC order pretty well, having first met them through mutual friends in the Radical Faeries movement.. some of the best people I've ever had the honor to know, I just can't say enough good about them. I believe in a scientific basis for what we perceive as divine, but if anyone on earth could get me proselytizing it would be them.

Have you considered using a fishing line and bait? You must know a way to lure that bad boy back in...

I don't have a problem with religious beliefs any beliefs as long as they aren't telling me I'm wrong just because I believe differently.

I'm very familiar with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence!

They really are wonderful people.

P.S. I'm friends with Harvey Fierstein, Larry Kramer, and Peter Staley (I'm a founding member of ACT-UP NY). I was also good friends with Keith Haring and Vito Russo.

I'll refer you to what I said earlier in this thread:
