I have had members put on the ignore list but they can still comment on my posts except I have to click on what they said to see it. This has happened several times, but if I make a post on someone who ignores me, I won't be able to comment.
So now I just unblocked everyone because what is the point of blocking them if they can still comment on my posts? Last edited by bluekoi; Mar 13, 2016 at 11:30 AM. Reason: Remove "Moved" |

Lark, the ignore feature only prevents people from posting in threads you start. It doesn't stop them from commenting on your posts in threads started by someone else.
I understand your frustration about someone you have on ignore commenting on your posts. I don't like it either. How about seeing it as a way of working on self discipline and not open their posts? I know from personal experience that is difficult too, but it's on me to show self-restraint and not open the post. |

The Skeezyks has had some problems in this regard.

Lark, someone you have on ignore should NOT be able to post in a thread you started. If they are there must be a glitch somewhere. I would report it to admin/mods so it can be corrected.

a member can place someone on ignore and the person who has that person on ignore will not see that members triggering posts ...unless they either remove that person from their ignore list or if they are reading posts with out being logged. the person you place on the ignore list can not post with in any threads that you start. members on your ignore list can read your posts. members on your ignore list can post in any other threads on the site started by other members than the one that has them on ignore. members on ignore can start their own threads about the same mental disorder, symptoms, topics that someone elses thread is preventing them from participating in due to the ignore list of another. examples... if I amanda put member A on ignore I dont see member A's posts and member A can not post in my thread. If I amanda am posting in member B's thread the one I have on ignore (member A) can also post in member B's thread, because Member B does not have them on their ignore list. I dont get to see what A posted just a notice that I have ignored A and gives me the option of removing them from my ignore list if I am choosing to see what they posted. Member A gets a notice that I have them on ignore so they can not post in my thread about eating broccoli so member A starts his own thread about eating broccoli. see what i mean the ignore list prevented me from seeing anything member A posts but does not prevent member A from having full access to the site. its a protection not a punishment button. |

It has happened with me that people who are on my ignore list can post on threads I start. I contacted the people in charge but they said there was nothing they could do.

I have this happened to me as well. Also, someone who is on my ignore list visitor-messaged me once? I don't understand why they can do that. I've put them in ignore list because I don't want to read what they post, at least as many posts as possible, yet they can post on MY profile page, and on MY threads?!!! They shouldn't be able to private-message you, too.

The ignore feature is there to help with self care, it's not an end all do all for eliminating any and all contact with the ignored member. That is on you, the person doing the ignoring, to undertake, if that is your will.

The problem reported here and by other users is because "Don't allow ignore users to post any of my threads" isn't a core part of the version of the forum software we're using, but rather an add-on.
As such, one of the services we allow to make it easier for those on mobile devices (such as smartphones) to access our forums -- Tapatalk -- doesn't support this add-on. Tapatalk doesn't have a lot of the features that our desktop version of the forum has (such as the ability to give hugs to other members), but it was decided when we added it that it was a fair trade-off. We'd rather have more people be able to easily access our forums from any device -- sans a few features -- than to have them not. So the feature of not allowing people on your Ignore list to post to your threads should be considered to be only part-functional at this time. It'll work much of the time as intended, but not for members who access the forums via Tapatalk to post. They'll be able to get around the restriction. We're looking at ways of fixing this long-term, but all of them are very involved and aren't likely to be implemented any time soon. I know this isn't an ideal situation, and we're very sorry for it. But I did want to let you know what was happening and why it was happening. Best, DocJohn

OK, but can we report those posts to be deleted manually from our threads?

No you can not report posts to be deleted from your thread. As I've said before, Ignore is not meant to be absolute. Sorry.

I understand that when they post on others' threads and being quoted from others is something beyond control. But what's the point if they can read and post on my threads while on my ignore list? I feel people on the ignore list have leverage over the ones who ignored them because hidden posts aren't mutual. I cannot read their posts or address them, while they can post on my threads and give their unwelcomed opinions. Some people I just cannot stand in these forums, and I try to avoid them as much as possible. But they can follow me in my threads!!!. What options I have in this case? Either I message them personally, which won't happen, because I don't want to talk to them in any way. Second, to remove them from the ignore list, which is triggering for me, and I will be in confrontation with them. The third option is .... I will do this one most likely.
Actually, I'm not sure why this feature is there ![]() |

Beside deleting their posts from my threads sounds reasonable to me, since they shouldn't be able to post in the first place, but they post because of a system bug.

It's not a bug, rather an inconsistency. Besides, I see no justification in removing another member's right to post where they want to. I feel that doing so is being downright oppressive. Like DocJohn said, it's on YOU the person who is being triggered to best deal with the situation, without, of course, having that said member's right of posting being oppressed.

Why is the Ignore list there?

But you're right, there's nothing that says you have to use the Ignore list at all if you don't want to.
