I would like to suggest that the designers of this website incorporate chat feature on our individual pm from our mail rather than having to go to chat itself. This is a much better function for people to talk with one another and have that self care feature. It is just like chat on Google in the Google mail or just like Chat on facebook.
Is it possible that PC Forums could make this change? Then people would flourish more so in friendships, it allows them to talk to each other. And also it keeps chat for meetings and support of Emotional support and other groups. I hope you do consider this for other forum sites do what i am asking for. Thank you and Blessings

thanks for that, Omega... there are many times i would like to have a little chat with a friend, but am reluctant to open a passworded room, and have everyone looking at it and having feelings about not being there, or whatever.

also, it's often tricky to open a private room, it might not be visible, or not let someone in,, we all have to sign out of chat and back in when a new room is made, in order to even see it, let alone get in~ and once in, there is no view of other rooms, at all.

am i the only one this happens to? NO~! others tell me it happens to them too~! why is that, can it be fixed? i live in hope~~

Hi Gus, i was not implying a password room in chat,,, i was implying in your private messages the ability to instant message each other back and forth separate from chat... that feature of chat the pm in chat on our individual address books so we can chat from that to each other... i hope that is clarification enough... thanxs!

there used to be a pm chat bar for a while but it proved unpopular and was removed, people felt it was intrusive, but there are many chat rooms empty during the day, ya might give em a try

I really liked the old chat bar we had at the bottom right hand corner of the screen. If you did not want to be disturbed, you could set it to busy. I think it would be great if it could be re-instituted!

Two things:
1) You are able to have private chats with people within chat. You just click on their name on the right side in chat and select private chat (or something like that) and then it pops up a private window that you can talk to another person without anyone else reading it.
2) The chat bar at the bottom of the screen had a lot of bugs. If you wrote in it and then went to another page it seemed to cause problems and you wouldn't be able to see the other person's reply. Even if you opened another window it still had the same problems. It was annoying to use because of this.

We'll look into re-instituting the chatbar at the bottom that could be turned off... there was a problem with it, but maybe it's been resolved by now.
