My huband is looking for a new 22" LCD Widescreen Monitor and I was wondering if any one has an opinion on which ones are good and which ones to stay away from?
Price Range: $300 or less. |

Hmmm, tough choice. To me, they basically are the same...but I probably would say the 319$ one.
The latter one has comments about how it may freeze up with red dots, and that you may have to turn it off and on to clear that up, so perhaps the little bit more expensive one is a better choice?

I just bought a cheap Acer 22" and while it's nice for its size, it took quite a bit of fiddling to get the display to show balanced colors.
I only noticed it because it was sitting next to a display that provides far more accurate color reproduction. So if you don't mind the fiddling, it's been okay and was cheap. A work monitor I have is a 20" viewsonic, of the same series as the one you're looking at. So if I had my choice, I would definitely get the 22" version that you're looking at (over the Acer and Gateway). Viewsonic has great color reproduction, good clarity, sharpness and uniform brightness. I buy virtually all of my computer supplies from NewEgg as well -- highly recommended! The monitor I ordered with regular 3-day shipping and it arrived the next day! Amazing.

Yeah the Viewsonic seems like a good computer with a great deal on price...... and it was one of the first monitors my husband had originally thought about getting - but then again it did take him 6 months to find the right pair of tennis shoes.
Plus...... this particular Veiwsonic is from the gaming series and that is what the males in the household will be using it for - PC Games. I like the VS monitor - and I was looking at the GW for we already have a GW computer. |

LOL, it reminds me when I was younger and our Dad bought a big screen TV after the biggest one we had previously was only like 19". It looked sooooooooooooooooooo huge for the longest time...it was like watching TV on a wall, but nowadays, it just looks so normal...
The monitor does look nice...mines just a tiny old one, so if I upgraded to one like yours, I would be "blind" as well and need sunglasses ![]()
