When I try to open page 74 of the cat humor thread in the pets subforum I get a security error message from Google that says

"Attackers on Funny Blog | Collection of funny pictures and memes may trick you into doing something dangerous like installing software or revealing your personal information."
http://forums.psychcentral.com/our-p...or-2-a-74.html

It then directs me back to the pets subforum page or I can proceed to the dangerous site. Needless to say I picked the safe option. I don't know if there is anything PC can do about the problem or not, but wanted to make you aware.

I use an E-machine desktop that runs Windows XP. I use google chrome as my browser.
Thanks for this!

It sounds to me like someone linked to the site in their post and this is the message that google is sending as the site may be unsafe. I will try to figure it out and go from there.

One of two images in a reply wasn't displaying on my browser, and turned out to be from the "thefunnyblog" site. I removed the image link. Please let us know if the problem shows up again.

I started another cat humor thread while the other was messed up. Do y'all want to combine them?
Thanks for this!

Hi, I been posting there a little bit. I always make sure that the images show up by previewing my post, as I understand it, if the image owners of the site decided to not allow the links to be made to image files, I'd be seeing a little rectangular icon that leads to the original image on the interweb.

I have never seen that kinda message from Google, "Attackers on ....". I'm just wondering if that's coming from Chrome browser, logically, it sounds like it to me, nvm, I'll look that up later.

Could this problem have caught from the poster's standing point?

Edit: I'll be answering my own question here. So the warning is called 'Deceptive Site Ahead' feature on newer Chrome browser, it checks the site for rogue activity, things that are mentioned in the OP included. My browser doesn't check that, yours may not too. What I'm not sure is if a single file could get flagged by this system, I try to choose the image links that has safer looking names, like 'https...bla bla bla-cache-whatever.com'. The bottom line? They, the rogue webmasters use social engineering, I'm guessing you'll be getting a pop ups for installing anything? You're the gatekeeper, the defender of your system, that is it. I'm on DEFCON 5, the lowest.

I can't stop thinking... Does every user have to get that kinda warning? Internet is a public telecommunication, so google can't just block you, this is not China! Let's just enjoy the freedom of information for another day.

I use Firefox (the latest, currently 47.0) and I didn't get any kind of warning message. However, instead of the image I was seeing the usual pale, boxy "can't display image" icon. The link went to something at thefunnyblog.org.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
