What is the "Others Like You" link on the bottom left of your profile page for?

I noticed/clicked on it for the first time today, thinking it probably brought up other members with the same primary concern as mine (depression). Instead, three members with a totally different concern than mine, although the same as each other, came up.

I didn't find it when I searched this forum, and I am now curious about what it is supposed to do.

its like facebook suggestions you fill in your profile then you get a list of people who has something on their profile that matches what you put on your profile...

example my profile says my mental disorders are dissociative so the oothers like me list includes names of members who also put dissociation in their list of mental disorders on their profile.

sometimes the match is your age group or your mental disorder or any other words you have on your profile, not sure but it might also be an automatic word matching of what you post too. example if someone posts about dogs and I had posted theword dogs then they may show up in the others like me listing for me to check out and decide whether to send that person a friend request.

I guess it must have picked up on something other than my primary concern, because I don't meet any of the criteria for the shared concern of the people who came up.

Don't think I will be using it...just got curious about what it was for after seeing the results I got.

I think this should be fixed now. It will match you with other current, active members who share the same primary concern, allowing you to find fellow members who may be going through a similar journey...
