Please guide me towards how the different skins work.

Ever since I have been here (and I have re-registered so it is longer than Feb 2006), I have always used the default skin. I love this. It is simple, uncomplicated and the fonts work best for me.

However, of late, my eyes have begun suffering with this skin, particularly late at night when it seems a laser beam is having a go at my eyes.

So ....... I switched to the Green Day skin tonight - the green is ok but I don't understand the different shades of green on different posts at this point. I am so tired and I haven't the energy to figure out why!

I apologize if I come across as completely brain dead ..... I have gone through all the skins but most give me a headache.

It would be great if we could have a non-descript greyish type skin - really business like and with the exact same fonts of the default skin.

Ok - but that is besides the point .... what do the different shadings of green mean on the Green Day skin?

Ack - my name (signature) also comes out with the same yellow as the default skin ..... and I thought I had that one waxed PC Skins PC Skins

Never mind ........... I'm resistant to change and I have switched back to the default. I'd rather fry my eyes ..........

Dark green are posts you haven't read. Light green are ones you have read.

No problem. It is also the only skin I can tolerate, if that makes you feel better, and I second your request for a nice greyish one. PC Skins

Yes, that wild skin is something, isn't it?

Glad my post came to some use after all!

I wonder if DocJohn will wonder over this way and see 3 votes for a nice business like greyish skin .....................

KD, I don't know if it's my computer or not, but poor Mickey looks to me like he's about to hurl. I trust that wasn't your intent. PC Skins

I wouldn't want a grey skin, personally. I haven't tried the other skins...I'm so busy, I really shouldn't even be posting as much as I am, so to play with skin designs...oy! I want to change my desktop, because I've had it so long, but it takes away from things I need to do, or at least I don't want to get behind on!

We have something like 7 or 8 skins already to choose from (which is 6 or 7 than most forums!), as well as another 5 or 6 in large-font format to help those who have trouble reading the smaller fonts, so I'm a little leary of adding yet another skin to the mix.

For what it's worth, the "Frosted" skin is pretty plain and business-like.

Ok, first go to your profile...the very top of the page where you are at now, click on your "wickedwings profile" and then when it goes to the actual wickedwings profile page, scroll all the way down to display preferences. Click on the edit to the right of display preferences...

and when the next page loads up, it asks which style sheet you want to use. pick from what is there and enjoy! PC Skins
