I've been browsing the forum for an appropriate space to start a thread in order to reach out for support with regards to dealing with my current mental state. Over the last year doctors have diagnosed me with depressive and anxiety states and prescribed SSRIs but I believe their diagnosis have always been premature and almost a desperate attempt to provide a quick fix. Having focused on therapy and introspection, I believe I am actually a survivor of emotional neglect which is extremely different from emotional abuse. I have faced no abuse during my childhood but I do have very similar symptoms of survivors of emotional abuse as a result of emotionally immature parents. I was wondering if it would be possible to open up a sub-board under the Mental Health Support Board for "Childhood Emotional Neglect".

Thanks

You have a point. A lot of the challenges that different individuals have can be traced back to some kind of childhood emotional neglect.

I've had similar experience, emotional neglect and emotional abuse by my mother, peers and teachers. All through my childhood I've seen a therapist. All of the things I had to go through has helped me develope BPD.

You said your parents were immature. So was my mom .She had emotional problems of her own and mainly wallowed in her misery.
