So I just tried posting this long post but it wouldnt do it cause it said I needed to log in but I already was but I logged in again and tried posting it again but it wouldnt do it for some reason. I cant remember exactly what the problem was but I ended up backing out of it and losing it. Its frustrating cause it takes me a while to type things and it was really important to me and now its gone. I have a hard time trying to put my thoughts into words and after I wrote down everything exactly the way I wanted to say it I ended up losing it. Im just really frustrated right now. Haven't been having a good day.

Sorry that happened. It does suck to lose something important, in this case tour post. If it takes you a while to type you might want to use a word processor(like MS Word, or a notes app on your phone like evernote). This way you copy, paste, post. No problems. I think there's a disclaimer on the non-quick reply about if its a long post its better to type it elsewhere and just copy and paste(ETA:not seeing it on my phone but I think I see it when I'm on-on my computer)

Also remember to check the "keep me logged in" box so that you're not kicked off for inactivity.
Thanks for this!

Other thing that works is checking the "remember me" box. If you do happen to get logged out, it auto logs you in and posts at same time

Next to the text-box you put your username when you login there's a little square box to the right you can click and next to it says remember me, clicking that box will keep you logged in.
Thanks for this!

Also, what I do if I notice the site or my internet connection acting up I highlight the whole post as I'm typing and "copy" it so I have it saved in real time, and then if it goes I can just "paste" it.... sometimes using the back button will work too... but not on most forum boards.

Sorry to read this happened. It sucks when that happens, but more so when it's something deep and difficult that's been lost.

I'm afraid it's unlikely you'll get that back unless your browser supports or has enabled a feature whereby such text can be recovered by simply click the back button; this is a feature that has saved my butt a few times in Firefox, but I seem to recall it not working all the time.

A good practice is to copy the contents into the clipboard: select text, right-click, then select 'copy', or, depending on your setup, the Ctrl + C keyboard shortcut. You could also type out a long message into a text editor (such as Notepad, if you're on Windows) then copy and paste the text into PC when you're done.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
