Perhaps this has already been requested. I think we need a forum specifically for psychiatric care. While there is a 'psychotherapy' forum this seems strictly to pertain to therapists and therapy. I often feel like what I have to say about my psychiatrist (positive incidentally) doesn't have it's place on that board.

though I dont post frequently in the psychotherapy board I have noticed that it is for anything to do with mental health treatment with therapists,, psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurses, social workers, counselors,..

but I have also noticed that a majority of the threads are about seeing therapists/counselors for therapy sessions. Ive always guessed that this is because people see their therapists more than they see their psychiatrist...

example I see my therapist weekly vs seeing my psychiatrist once every three months. So naturally if I was a frequent poster in the psychotherapy board a majority of my posts would be about seeing my therapist, simply because I see her more.

It would be interesting though for those who only see a psychiatrist to maybe have their own sub forum, kind of like dissociative has a couple sub sub forums.

did you know that you can start a social group and that once you reach so many members it becomes a forum.... Just an idea for you.

There is a Psychiatric Medications forum, that's not only about drugs but as the description reads also for:
For the discussion of psychiatric medications, side effects, experiences with, appointments, psychiatry, etc.

You can either use the Psychotherapy forum (if it has to do with therapy sessions with ANY type of mental health professional) or Psychiatric Medications (if it has to do with meds).

The Psychotherapy forum isn't limited to a specific type of professional providing the care.
