Wondering if there was anything like a Pen Pal section on this site? I am not NOT good at meeting people, sustaining friendships, social gatherings......but I think I gave a lot to say (and listen).....a "pen pal" with someone also with emotional difficulties where we could exchange thoughts, fears, hopes, etc online might be a good thing........thanks

I have never seen a "pen pal" section on here but then again I could be wrong. I guess you could start a pen pal thread? I speak to 1 girl from the forum in every day life. Have done for a few years now we don't chat every day just once in a while to check in etc

It's weird that I just completed a quiz that strongly suggested autism spectrum, and also sort of fantasized about the pen pal thing. That said, the couple of times it has worked for me, it's always been spontaneous, and it's never worked if starting with the explicit intention of penpalling. The people have always been too different and alien to me.

I've never seen a pen pal section on here but I'm fairly certain individuals have communicated in real life.

People have started threads on here (usually in the general section) asking for penpals.

I have a few people on here I message with but they were people I conversed with on threads first and found we had stuff in common, just like IRL I suppose.

thanks.....I am self-diagnosed Aspergers. And hearing your response just sort of confirmed it a bit. I don't "get" how people just seem to love to mingle, talk, etc etc.....but deep down I wish I was a lot more like that....

You could start a social group for people interested in pen palling with each other as a place for you all to connect

I like that idea.

I like the idea of being pen pals with someone too.
Thanks for this!
