Hello there - just wanting to ask if anyone knows about the ignore feature on this forum please? I don't have anyone on ignore on this forum and rarely actually use it but would like to know this: if you place someone on "ignore" - can you still see their posts if someone else quotes them in a thread?

I know that this is the case on another forum I use and it's extremely annoying.

Many thanks for your help anway and all the best to you, Don.

Yes, if someone quotes the person you have on "ignore" the quote will show in their reply.

Okay - thanks, just wanted to check if it does it on this forum too. It seems to sort of defeat the purpose of the feature though, I must say.

Thanks for your time.

Understood as to how you feel it defeats the purpose but when something is quoted, it's not given the ability to be hid if you are ignoring the quoted members. It's not something that the platform is set up to do.

In this case it's best to do your self care as best you can. Nothing is a perfect situation for every member but we do try to help the best way we can.

Take Care!!

My main reason for putting people on ignore is so they can't reply or interact with me, but if something they're saying is triggering I see your point...
Thanks for this!

Yes, I do understand - it's the same on the other forum I use too. That one is far more negative than this one and there's good reasong to often ignore various other users or posts/threads in general. I probably should just stay away from it - but they become a habit.

I've noticed people rarely seem to quote on this forum anyway - and the people are much nicer in general.

Many thanks for your time.

Don't think it's ever happened on this particular forum - but it happens a lot on the other one. I should just stay off of it. So much negativity, it's awful - but there are a few nice people there.

I can relate about the triggering part too - that happens a lot with me. Thanks for your comment.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
