I’m not sure this is the right forum, but I’m just curious.

It seems like everyone on Psych Central Forums speak perfect American English. But I see some people are from different countries

Is there a setting where you pick the language you want to view the forum in?

Sorry if this is a weird/ naive comment. I am just interested.

I believe English is the required language here, so no settings otherwise.
Thanks for this!

I know.

I was referring to the vocabulary of American English. Not British English or any other types.

personally I think i modify the way i write on here because I assume that people won't understand if I use colloquialisms from my home country.

many computers and browsers have translation abilities.. example if using google chrome if you right click on a page border you will see a window and the words translate into your language. sometimes it says translate to english. click that then click options and a whole listing can be seen of what languages your version of chrome will translate the page into, select the language you want.

another way is windows 10 does have a place in settings where you can type in the language you want everything automatically translated into.

there are also many computer software you buy at computer stores where you can add language dictionaries / translators.

there is also online options where you can type in what you are writing into an online translator for just about every language in the world. ( the joys of being on the world wide web just google it and you can find what ever translator works best for you)

many websites also have site maps that include translating into many different languages. example facebook click on your name (which brings you to your profile. then scroll down and along the left side you will see language options that facebook has.

there are also many computer companies/ manufacturers that do custom computers like dell that will add software (for a price of course) that contains translators/ dictionaries/ thesaurus of language of choice.

microsoft also makes a translation software that is found in the edge browsers "store" as an app/ extension. as does google browsers "store" of apps and games.

by the way there are some really cool translators online that will allow you to translate your page and anything you want to write into fun things too like emoji, pirate, piglatin, star wars characters, elmer fudd, and other cartoon characters, my children are learning how to use translators as part of their school work, ones favorite is elmer fudd and spanish of sesame street, the other likes the pirate translator and star wars characters translator.

Also this website is based out of the US. So my guess is that the largest number of users is in the US so you will more often see American English rather than British (or other) English.
