Why do I no longer receive notifications for threads I am subscribed to in my inbox or such here on PC when there is a new message on it - especially if it is one I created?

Curious Crypts. I have also been registered for going on 4 years to receive reminders for scheduled chats as I am in a different timezone. I have yet to receive any in all that time.

check your profile settings, if you dont have receive email selected it wont send you an email when someone posts in the thread. also when you subscribe to a thread there is a box that says type of notification, select receive email if you want to receive an email. make sure that is showing in the box if you want the email for that thread. its a setting you set every time you subscribe. I have been here since 2009 and I have always received the email as long as I have my profile setting set for receiving emails for subscribed threads and when I click receive email when I subscribe to the thread.

Amanda - that was why I specified "here on PC".

Go to where it says "my profile"
Look down to where you see your messages
Normally, just below there - are notifications to your subscribed threads if a new post has been added.

Mine had quit.

Today that was restored somehow.

Both stopping n restoring were just as mysterious as I did nothing for either.

I am just glad it works now.

Also, always check your "spam" or "junk mail" or "promotions" folder / tab or whatever, as sometimes your email program may mis-direct the occasional email into one of those folders mistakenly.

We have no control over your email provider's filters or why they may reject our email to you. That's an issue you have to work out with your email program or email provider. Because we use a third-party emailing service specifically designed to try and ensure our emails get to you, we can't do much else on our end...

We send out over 1,000 emails every day and somewhere on order of 93 percent (on average) of them get delivered. The rest are either bad email addresses still in our system, or some sort of deliverability problem (most of which we resolve behind-the-scenes).

We have no known or open issues with any large email provider at this time, such as Gmail or AOL.com.

Email I receive since I decided to allow that. (I didn't like it cluttering my email so hadn't been doing it for a year or so)

It was only the "new subscribed posts" or whatever that title is below where your messages is on your "my profile" page. Top part is advertisements. Then there are messages. Then its the "new subscribed posts" for all the threads you are subscribed to that have new messages posted to them you have not yet viewed.

So - not the notifications you receive off site, the ones you receive on-site.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
