Provide a support forum
for anyone who is spending
Christmas day alone.
And it isn't easy.
No matter how many DVDs
or books you have it isn't easy.
It might be a good suggestion to inform
people on here NOT to do the following:

Drink alcohol (self medicating is common on these holidays)
Avoid ANY illegal substances (drugs)
Provide the crisis line number ( and trust me it will be needed on a day like Christmas)

usually what happens is a day or two before the actual holiday day people start posting in what ever forums that they frequent the most letting people know their holiday plans and supporting those that are going to be alone.

in all the yrs that I have been here when ever one single thread in one forum is made on this issue many others end up popping up anyway making more work for the moderators trying to tie them all together into one thread and more stress on those who read and post in the forums they are used to instead of trying to locate where the one holiday posting is in the general forum because it tends to get buried by other threads.

but I do love your idea of having a forum board for all holiday postings.

suggestion.. since right now a holiday forum board doesnt exist ..yet maybe you can start threads in what ever forums you frequent asking what everyones plans are and for support and supporting others.

there is also the option of starting a social group on anything where members can join and post about anything, maybe you can start a social group.

Plenty of people will be in the chatrooms live this Christmas. I think people could come and visit there and they would have live support.
