What is the green check mark under "Rating" in the list of threads? Who or what does the rating?

I believe it's used to indicate that you have replied to that thread.

Notice that all the threads that have that check mark are all the threads that you have replied to..

Each member sets their own green check marks. only you see the green check marks when you set them, they are the threads that you have marked "subscribed to" to subscribe you click on thread options then subscribe. to make the green check mark go away you click on that threads options and click "unsubscribe" subscribe makes it easy for you to find the threads you are interested in going to quickly. you access your subscribed threads list in your profile options edit subscribe. I use subscribe often for threads I have started and those that I want to go back and read again or keep track of. |

I don't know, but that's what I noticed... just pass the mouse over the checkmark, it will tell you that you are subscribed to that thread.

I never "set" any check marks voluntarily.
I think the term "rating" is very misleading. I thought it must have something to do with popularity, how many people read the thread, or how it was rated by members or administrators. ![]()

members can also use the posting icons to designate what their thread is. popular viewing is also noted on the right side of the page that shows how many people in general have views a thread. keep in mind though the views vs reply numbers never match up people outside of psych central can read the boards too with out being able to reply because they havent registered yet and also people sometimes read threads many times before they decide to reply. example when I dont have time to log in I will do a quick read of a few posts while not logged in, I was also able to read the boards before I registered for an account and sometimes I reread threads many times before actually completing my reply. |
