so I'm fully aware that members have to have their first 5 posts moderated

is that just forum posts, or does it extend to private messages and visitor messages

if she sends me a visitor message, would the owners have to moderate it first before it goes on to my profile

I ask this because I am trying to teach a friend how to use the forum, and I don't want her to think she's doing something wrong- or giving her wrong information.

so just checking

thanks

From what I remember, they can use PM (I remember being able to access the welcome message from docjohn), whether they're able to PM non-mods while in moderation I'm not sure.

I don't remember being able to leave visitor messages while in moderation but I could be remembering wrong.

whether a person is moderated or not they can access (receive, read and write/type, send) private messages. As far as I know the moderators do not moderate private messages.

that said there is a way to send the moderators copies of pm's at the same time as pm'ing someone if needed. just include the moderators name in the recipient user box along with the person you are private messaging. if you do that the private message goes to both the person you are messaging and the moderator(s) that you want to receive the message.

as a general rule some members including me here do save copies of private messages so that if a problem arises they can "forward" that message to the moderators if needed.

A new member may only pm with a Community Support Team member until they have (I'm not certain about the #) possibly 7-10 published posts/threads.

If they try to pm before that number is hit, I think they will get a message that they are not allowed to pm yet. Again, I could be wrong about that, it's been awhile since I had to address this. I'm sorry I can't be more specific. Probably not much help at this point.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
