I seen this in my options thing and I'm so confused - according to this I can choose not to recieve messages from the admins, yet I have to allow messages from the moderators even if I restrict who I get messages from?

You may limit the receipt of private messages to just moderators and your contacts. Other members who attempt to send messages to you will be told that you have disabled private messaging.
Receive Private Messages only from Contacts and Moderators

The first box refers to EMAILS FROM ADMINS. This box, further down, refers to PRIVATE MESSAGES.

I mean the private messages thing, it says about only recieving private messages from moderators and contacts but I don't see anything about recieving private messages from admins so I'm understanding that to mean that if the box is ticked, admins can't private message members

Admins can private message all members at all times. We couldn't run the site without the ability to communicate with members directly and privately.
