Odd question perhaps. But I haven’t necessarily found useful support from those I paid to be supportive. Or from some “experts”. Or from doctors in this forest.

Hugs and love to all

I don't actually come to PC for support. I rarely post my own threads. And when I do they're not of a personal nature. I come to PC mostly because it gives me something to do. (And, over time, it's become a habit.) Plus it's just about the only connection to people & the outside world I have (or want for that matter.) It is certainly nice to have other members tell me, occasionally, that they appreciate what I do here although, at the same time, being put in any kind of spotlight also gives me the jitters, so to speak. But mostly I'm just biding time...

considering the rule here at PC is that all posts must be supportive and if we find postings that are not following that rule we are supposed to be reporting them.... Id have to say by default that Psych Central is supportive.

my suggestion to anyone who may find it not supportive to send a pm to the mods and administrators who can help with this problem.

I find certain members supportive. I know most people here find it supportive. Me, I'm just lost in this huge crowd. I have other places that fit me better that are smaller in size. So it is OK. I find online support real.

I'm just not the type of person that feels a connection with this many people, also most that feel supported deserve it and I'm truly not deserving. I never had that nice fuzzy feel to me and I am too sharp around the edges.

But it's still fine, I find other things here.

Yes, it’s very supportive for me. I like the exchange with people who are listening because they want to, not because they are being paid to. This is genuine. Even if no one responds to me, I like venting on here. I hated to therapy. I’m doing fine learning all I can and caring for myself and feel good to share the experience with others on their journeys.

PC has given me a purpose after I had to go on disability. I mainly come here to try to help others and to socialize and play games. Now and then I post something I need help with or want to talk about. And sometimes I am disappointed because only a few people even read it and the only person who responds is one of our liaisons. I appreciate that, but I know at the same time that it's one of their jobs to seek out unanswered posts. (I am feeling a bit depressed now, so I'm more aware of this type of thing.)

PC is the only supportive place I have. It's so supportive that it seems too good to be true. And tbh the desert sand theme always makes me feel so much calmer for some reason. I love this place even though I often go off into cuckoo land, in which case people usually ignore me and I leave for a long time but always find my way back

Me, too. I come here whenever I have some spare time, in all sorts of frames of mind, historically. I can almost always manage to find something that makes me feel better.

I also have found that helping others, helps me.

I find this place to be especially supportive and safe.

No, I rarely find it supportive anymore. Maybe at one time. I come here wanting to talk and just feel like an outsider and a freak when I leave. Why are people online so cold and judgmental? I rarely have that issue in real life and clearly I'm an outsider here because like always I'm the only one with a differing opinion.

Most of the time. I am truly grateful I found this site when I did. I have met some genuinely sincere people who share the same struggles. It makes a difference knowing others who understand the process of surviving the mental illness journey.
