Starting yesterday, the search bar on the PsychCentral citation on Bing disappeared. (It appears it is still present on Google.) I'm wondering if this is something PC has any control over or is it just something Bing has decided to do? I don't have Google on my laptop. So if the search bar is gone from the PsychCentral citation on Bing, & there's nothing that can be done about it, I suppose I'll have to consider downloading something such as Google Chrome in order to access PC's archives in the way I've been doing. Bummer...

I'm not sure what you're referring to by the "PsychCentral citation on Bing." Could you perhaps include a screenshot to show us?

Is that why we haven't seen you around lately. I hope you return to us soon, Skeezyks. You are missed. Also, recent updates can reset preferences. Is it possible to add favorites to 'Bing'?

Thanks so much for your reply, DocJohn. Sorry... I wouldn't have a clue how to do a screen shot. ![]() Below the 4 thumbnails, prior to yesterday, there was a search bar one could use to find articles in PC's archives. Now it just says: "See more news from PsychCentral." And if you click on that, it takes you to a listing of articles. But, at least as far as I can determine, there's no way to search for specific articles, or articles concerned with a specific mental health issue. The search bar made it possible to do that. I did search Psych Central on Google (on another computer) & it does appear the search bar is still there. Unfortunately, I don't have Google on my computer. I guess I can download Google Chrome. But I'd prefer not to do that if I didn't have to. ![]() P.S. CANDC knows about this search bar because I learned about it from her. ![]() Last edited by Skeezyks; Dec 03, 2018 at 07:37 PM. |

![]() ![]() Perhaps I misunderstood your suggestion regarding adding Bing to my preferences. I don't have any difficulty searching Bing in general. The problem relates to a search bar that, prior to yesterday, was on PschCentral's listing on Bing. For some reason that I don't understand, that search bar has suddenly disappeared. Hopefully it's a temporary "glitch". But I don't know & it's been an important part of what I've been doing here on PC. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Unfortunately, we have virtually zero control over how search engines decide to display results from our website. If something changes, your best bet is to just see if it comes back in a day or two (as happened here), as it might have just been a glitch or the search engine testing some different layout or format for their search results.
Glad it fixed itself.
