I have no edit options/toolbars for selecting font type, size, color, etc and no drop-down menu with smilies. All those things that referred to when explaining how-to's. Why is that? It says under posting rules that smilies are enabled. It works if I write out the codes, but that takes so much longer... This is both when posting a new thread and if I post advanced. Can anyone help me?

And btw - I have tried both explorer and firefox, it's the same in both

could it be something to do with the message editor you selected

under my profile/ my options, their is a dropdown list where you can select what type of message editor you want. I have a basic text box, so I don't get all that extra stuff

but their's other things you can select their too
Thanks for this!

Edit option has a time limit. if you want to edit your post after the edit option is not showing on your post you have to contact a moderator and explain what edit you need. then they will do the editing if possible for you.

the reason the edit has a time limit is because sometimes editing a post can also affect the replies...

example if I said something then someone replies something, then I go in and edit changing the meaning of my post that reply some one gave me no longer applies to the editted version. then everyone reading gets confused and frustrated because someone keeps editing their posts making the replies seem off topic and not applying. (basic manipulations of others, that I have seen happen on other sites that dont have limits on the editting of ones posts)

to customize own posts click on the word "go advanced" that appears under the space where you write your post.

you can also control posting customizing in your profile. at the top of the psych central community page there is a bar in it there is an option that says "profile" scroll onto that and select edit display. then on the page that opns scroll down to where the customizing font over ride, font sizing and font color overriding is. (this is in the psych central theme, for "responsive blue" you may need to look around your tabs to find what you need the options in responsive blue are different.)
Thanks for this!

Click on "My Profile" in the bar along the top
On the left side is "Your Control Panel"
Scroll down to "Edit Options" (This is on the left)
Scroll down to "Miscellaneous Options" (This is on the right)
The Messege Editor Interface should be set for "Enhanced Interface"
Thanks for this!
