Is there a rule against a member with an ignore list creating many general chat threads? Or is that okay? I thought I read that somewhere you can't post threads in the general chat area if you have people on ignore and vice versa

This is true, if you have people on ignore you are not supposed to create general threads. You can report the thread and a moderator will restart the thread.

Hi Birdie, A member on ignore cannot start any posts on any board that are "community" posts (such as check-in threads).

What beautiful Beth means is members who are using their ignore, cannot start those threads

Beth and Willow, you have it backwards. A member who has someone else on ignore is not supposed to start a community thread.

Lucky you. You must have never received bizarre PMs so you had no need to use ignore feature. That’s the only way to stop some people

I think even if I did recieve PM's like that, I wouldn't use the ignore list.

No one screams at people for putting anyone on ignore. No one even cares. If it was against the rules, we’d not have the feature available

Oh wow lizard lady said ignore feature doesn’t stop people from PMing you. Guess it’s not? They stopped them because I either asked them to or because I stopped replying. Ha I thought ignore feature did it

No, oddly, the ignore feature does not extend to PM's.

If, however, a member you have on ignore PM's you and you are not okay with it, you can report the situation to a mod.

Messages discussing a private message (PM) from others

Members who have other members on their Ignore list should not start community/group/game/party/holiday threads, because it would limit who could post to such a thread; such members should ask a community support team member to start the thread instead.

Members should generally not speak for, or about (especially in a negative manner), other current or past members. If a member wants to say something, they are welcomed to do so themselves. If a past member who's left on their own accord wants to say something, they're welcomed to start a new account.
Interpersonal differences with other members should always be handled in private (e.g., via PM) -- not in chat, and not in a thread.

Who are the moderators here and how do I contact one?
Please feel free to contact any of the moderators (listed at the bottom of the forum's index page) if you need assistance or have questions or concerns regarding specific posts. There are two ways to contact a moderator. The first is if you're reading a thread and see a post of questionable content, you can click on the Report Post icon (Community Guidelines) of the post in question and that will automatically alert the moderators to the questionable content. They will then review it and make a decision on whether the post is appropriate or not. The other way to contact a moderator is to privately message (PM) them directly. You can do this by clicking on a moderator's name in a thread. Refusing to cooperate with the request or directive of a moderator or administrator may result in your suspension from the community.

Please no one make fun of me. YES all the guidelines are important blah blah but I copy and pastes this abridged tip sheet into my docs app to refer to. And I know there are some I violate without realizing. One thing I do that I hope puts at ease any admin's mind is own my sh** and apologize. I am human and we are all smart enough to know if we are yanking someone's chain from afar or geniunely missing it

"refusing to cooperate with the direction of a moderator" - does this include if we miss understand what we got told and as a result of this, we get it wrong?

Or is it literally just if the member says anything like "shove that instruction up your arse"?

Sorry if I getting confused and anxious

Misunderstanding is not the same as refusal to cooperate. Refusal is deliberate.

If we do what we think the instruction wants but we don't get it quite right cause we didn't fully understand, does anything scary happen?

Willow, "refusing to cooperate" would be if a mod/admin said "Willow, do not do x,y,z" and you continued to do x, y, z.

I never had anything scary happen.

If you don't understand you can PM a mod/admin and ask for clarification. When I've asked for clarification the response was always kind and helpful.

I'm too scared to tell them when I don't understand cause of the number of admin screamers I had runs in on forums

I can think of only one exception and sadly that forum is long gone
