I’m not technical, so please provide step by step easy instructions. Thanks. Can the blocked person still see posts or not?

Also, if someone QUOTES the ignored member, you'll see the post plain as day. Hence, the uselessness of it. They can STILL leave you a pm or vm, thank or hug you too. I don't get this. I'm not 100% sure as I've been on here over 10 years, but I think at one time the ignored member wouldn't be able to do this. That makes sense. I mean if you have someone on ignore, you want them to BE IGNORED. It doesn't work that way. Yeah it doesn't work on Tapatalk. (FYI Tapatalk doesn't have a hug button either. You also can't see visitor messages or friend requests. It can be more user friendly to post on a phone using it, but it has many limitations. It's slow to load and gives notifications on stuff I don't have notifications SET for. Or on old posts I've long read. Sorry, maybe that's too much technology for you.) I noticed depending on what screen I'm on with Tapatalk, the post may or may not appear. Hope this helps. __________________ Call me "owl" for short! Hmmm....looks like some good tips in here. The ignore feature's functionality has not changed since it was implemented. There are technical reasons why it can't be 100%. And just like in real life, if you try and "ignore" someone, you may still bump into them occasionally while running errands, at religious services, at work, etc.
Tapatalk was a way to enable solid mobile functionality -- being able to use the forums on your mobile phone -- before we had a robust mobile theme. Since we now have such a theme (implemented in 2019), we've only kept Tapatalk around since some members seem to enjoy it. __________________ Don't throw away your shot. |

I don't know what a mobile theme is, because if I pick "mobile website" on the phone, it looks the same as the desktop. Not user friendly for the screen size.
It was in 2008 or so and I'm sure a moderator told me an ignored member can't send a pm or vm to someone if they are on the list. __________________ Call me "owl" for short! The default theme, blue_responsive, is mobile-friendly.
Ignored members can NOT send PMs to someone when they are that member's ignore list. If you put a member on ignore, they can't send you a PM -- it goes into the trash bin without any notice to the member sending the PM. (Community support team members cannot be ignore in this manner, since this is our only means of communicating privately with members.) Ignored members CAN post a visitor message to your profile, but you will not see the message. Other members can see the message. You can, however, delete the message from your profile page without viewing it. Neither of these two functionalities have changed since implemented, as they are built-in features of the software. __________________ Don't throw away your shot. |
