My ignored list seems to refuse to work on my phone (chrome), on laptop (chrome again) it works fine
If i go into my ignored list, anyone i have in their shows on laptop and phone, on laptop it hides posts like its supposed to, but on phone i can see the ignored posts without clicking on anything Dont understand what im doing wrong on phone Not sure if its the age of this phone or what, its about 2 and a half years old now i think Its getting me stressed in case i react by instinct to something, then end up (rightly) getting a scary message, starting to panic now over the imagination message that i know would come if i did react Idk if this even makes sense, alter corrupt hates me Edited to address: if it is my phone the feel free to say "felineangel its your phone, cause its so old it was roaming around looking for the internets when the dinosaurs were around" cause it could easily be this phone Dinosaurs probably didnt have internets idk Last edited by felineangel; Oct 31, 2023 at 08:24 AM.. |

My understanding is the ignore feature doesn’t work on the Tapatalk app, so if that’s how you access MSF on your phone, you might switch to accessing through a browser instead so the feature works.

I guess I might have a misunderstanding on how the Ignore List works. I have a laptop. I thought that when you pick someone to ignore, you won't see anything of them, which is what I want. I picked someone on my ignore list, but as it turned out, I can see the poster when I go on the forum. But if I click on to what that person would say, then I can't see what they posted.
If I choose to ignore someone personally, then I don't want to see them entirely. That's what I thought would happen. I don't know why I should bother with the ignore list when it turns out like that. Or is there something wrong with they way my laptop is working in connection to this site? |

Nope, that's the way the Ignore List works, for better or worse. You can see that an Ignored person has posted, but you can't see *what* they posted.
It's not meant to be absolute and wasn't designed that way. We'll see if we can increase the functionality of this feature to make it more comprehensive... __________________ Don't throw away your shot. Last edited by DocJohn; Nov 01, 2023 at 10:53 AM.. |

My guess on the post appearing in a quote is because they are not the original poster; the person quoting them is. FelineAngel, Tapatalk is an app one installs that has thousands of forums, including this one. The advantage is that it makes posting in the forums more user friendly on such a tiny screen. But the ignore feature doesn't work and you can't "hug" someone either. Also, you can't see visitor messages or friend requests, just forums and pm's. If using the browser, my understanding is that one has to pick a certain theme for it to be user friendly on the phone. Since I don't want to change my theme, I don't do that. I have an iPhone. I've gotten more proficient using the browser for this site instead of Tapatalk. The latter can be so slow to load. __________________ Call me "owl" for short! not sure if that's a good way of not reacting to posts, pretend I don't see them and just don't read them, when ignored list decides it doesn't want to work (on my "smart"phone) - please feel free to say if that's not a way of dealing with ignored posts that show up, its just a way I find works for me idk if this makes sense |

Been awake since 4am though so I might not be making sense, poor Willow was being reactive to something, so as a result I can't really figure stuff out for myself today |

I went to the app store and searched Tapatalk, then installed it a couple of years ago. They have a subscription version or something, where you pay for no ads. I just installed that because at the time, I wasn't as good as using the browser on the phone. I'm better now but it's still easier on a computer. I don't have one but am borrowing one from the library a few more weeks. Also beware Tapatalk is very slow, has tons of ads (some of them have annoying loud sound effects too), and will give notifications on stuff I don't want even though it's turned OFF. __________________ Call me "owl" for short!
