There is no option to turn off thanks and hugs.

If you're accessing our forums via the Tapatalk app, you do not see these thanks and hugs reactions.

Thanks for me isn’t a bad thing because I’m sometimes in need of comfort and I don’t mind giving thanks . Some people just need a hug or something good for their day. Thank ya there are people who respect me enough to say thank you .

There is no hug button on Tapatalk, at least not the free version I use once in awhile. The "thanks" shows up as a heart to click and I see the number of them, such as a heart with a 2 next to it. So that post got 2 thanks, but I don't think I can see who gave them.

If you give a thanks, it appears in another color than thanks from other members.

I haven't used them it in awhile because it's slow and I don't have a strong enough connection to make it load faster.

Double edged sword for me. It's great to see them but very disappointing when nobody gives them on a post similar to what someone else said, but that member got all the hugs and thanks. Honestly I have mixed feelings about it, since I see many posts with many thanks/hugs and others with nothing.

Its pretty much who the member is vs what the post is about even if its similar.

Kinda like in highschool how one person tells a joke and no one laughs and then the cool kid tells the same joke and everyone laughs. It was who was telling the joke. Not the joke itself.

For me, it depends whether I'm on my old fart of a phone or not, less and less is working on the old fartphone (not just forum related but apps and stuff as well, so I know its my phone)

I try to hug and thank as much as I can, unless I have a reason to not interact with a particular person.

I use them for others, I just never notice if my own posts get hugged or thanked

Some of us who didn't get them growing up or in real life, these are the only hugs we get, period. If I view a thread I subscribe to, I can't help seeing them because I see not only the latest replies but my posts as well. They are directly underneath, if they are there at all.

I ALSO am generous with hugs.

I also avoid forums where people can vote a post up/down or helpful/not helpful.

Sadly, some people complain if they get hugs and thanks, then complain when they dont get hugs and thanks, so its impossible to "win"
