technophobe me again lol. anybody understand what it means for downloading avatars when it say so many pixels by so many pixels max? all I know is sizes like 120x75 etc but is that pixels?
![]() oh forgot to ask....when adding attachments to posts and it says max amount of bytes...anybody what that is in kb's pleeze? ![]() |

Yes, that's pixels, the 120 x 75 stuff.
A kb is 1024 bytes, so just divide whatever number of bytes by 1000 and you'll get the rough kilobyte size. 10,000 bytes, for example would be 10kbish.

just a sidebar on pixels my friends...if you were to take a photo and enlarge it say 10 times you would lose perspective and the pic would look blurry or off a bit...if we magnified this photo a 1000 times we would not be able to regognize the picture...you will notice that your pic looks like little squares...these squares are pixels...pixelated photos can be dithered and anti-aliased...to make them seeable...and further the size you want your pic to be as in 80 x 60 pixels is 80 pixels long and 60 pixels wide...your monitor is the same except it is probably 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768 pixels...
