I use a Mac G5 running on on whatever system is newest, I forget all the names, like Leopard of something. As you can tell I am computer clueless.

Whenever I run my Yahoo Messenger and an internet browser (Firefox or Safari) it freezes my entire screen. Has this happened to anyone else?

I use yahoo as my start page. right now it won't allow me to open it saying there is a virus/worm so I keep having to abort it. is that what yours is doing?

Hi Griffe,
I use a program called Adium. You can find it here. It works great on Mac and you can use Yahoo Messenger on it as well as all sorts of other programs (msn, icq, gmail, etc) and run all the chat programs on one program. It's a great program, imo. Yahoo

Perhaps your computer cannot handle running lots of programs that require lots of memory all at once? Is this a new thing, or something that's happened for a long time?

Does it happen with any other programs?

Thanks wantto, I'll check it out. Yahoo

It's a new thing, but it seems to be working today. It only ever happens with a browser. Hopefully I haven't jinxed it now because my yahoo seems to be working great. Yahoo

Thanks everyone.

It could be either the Yahoo site or the browser aren't as "new" as your nifty machine and are having a hard time keeping up/understanding it; make sure you update all your software to the latest and greatest.
