Is there a way to stop the quoting in the PMs? I'm not too sure I like it. It gets confusing as to where to respond.

I think what's up with it is that the other forum used to have the message we were replying to come up in a separate box so we could refer back to what was being said & respond.....I think that is why is comes up in the quote is so that we can see what we are replying to. After finishing the reply, we can just delete the quote & it doesn't have to go out with the reply.

I know for me, I end up forgetting to delete the quote before sending out the reply, & it can get quite crazy when the quotes start adding up. The good thing is that they are easily deleted.

just my take on what the quote thing is all about.

I agree with September. You have to edit the quote before you can enter your own message.

Yep, if you don't want the quote in there (or it starts getting to be too long, etc.) you will need to do one quick click...highlight the quote and type over it. It's not that big a thing to do, I don't think.

It's defaulted to quote.

Thanks, guys!

You know, it wouldn't be so bad if everybody got together and answered at the very top after adding a couple of "enters" then going back up to the top.

Yesterday, I got a PM with the response INSIDE the quote! LOL I was wondering "What the heck??" until I found the reply!

I also found the button to click to view your SENT messages.

LOL before I started deleting the original message, I was putting my response at the bottom! I imagine some ppl around here were pretty confused. It didn't occur to me to put it at the top.
