or subforum. I'm so frightened and confused by the coming election. I guess it's too hot a topic, huh!

We're already bombarded with the stuff. I don't want it in my refuge. But that's just my .02.

We have a new option here at our new home for folks to create "Social Groups" You are more than welcome to create a social group to discuss politics or any other subject (as long as it's legal).

Please remember while participating in these social groups to treat each member with respect. While everyone is allowed to have their own opinions, and we can disagree, just be respectful about it.

I'll respect this policy, and I doubt I'll try to establish a social forum, as I don't know how. But, let me say, that this election is going to impact us mightily. Declining a discussion of the candidates and issues, though there would, no doubt, be strong opinions, be like burying one's head in the sand. I'm confused by it all, and would benefit from hearing others' opinions. But, maybe I'm wrong for bringing it up here. It seems a legitimate topic to me.

seeker, I posted in video a link where you can go to that site and take a quiz... based upon (supposedly) quotes from the candidates. You don't know which was made by whom, but at the end, depending upon each one you agreed with, it will tell you which candidate aligns with your own views. Does that help?
You can PM me if you like, I'd be happy to discuss politics with you.

With anyone who is civil, actually. I've begun a social group for this purpose.

((((((((( seeker ))))))))))))))

The guidelines here restrict political discussions because of the strong feelings people hold on this subject and how easily out of hand the discussion on the boards can get. That is why DocJohn created that Community Guideline.

Patty, There's an Election 2008 (or something similar) message board on WebMD. I've been there but not recently and it was interesting and respectful at that time.

Giving this more thought, I think this is wise for PC. I think I was letting the whole election thing get to me when I initially posted.
Thanks,
Patty

Dear Patty,

I know what you mean.

I was going to do a campaign phone bank for my candidate but had to cancel due to health issues.

It is a very serious election at a most important time in our history.

I have talked back to the tv over this many times this month already!!!!

I think it's a good idea to realize the issues that matter most to you in your life, and if you are still undecided, watch the debates closely.

If you already know who you are voting for, you might be in a position to get people to vote. Both sides have community operations. Their websites will direct you in how you can help. It might make you feel better.

Then again, it might not be available for you to participate in that manner, so I hope you can find some peace in political websites, and an example of a democratic one is www.HuffingtonPost.com, although they can get a little rough and tumble, but very, very informative and current. Also, there is a list of political sites, both sides, available on google and yahoo, and also, on the bottom of the Huffington Post page.

If blogs interest you, there is www.dailykos.com, another informative site for Democrats and Greens, and Independents alike, although everyone is welcome.

The more you search, the more you will find, so it is easier to look along your party right now, I feel.

Peace and Hope,
night

If you would like to make a suggestion for forums/subforums, you are more than welcome to post in Technical and Feedback with your request.

Thank you, everyone for your input and at this time I will lock this thread.
