cantstopcrying, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
  1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
  2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

This is the message I get any time I try to see the "announcement" posted at the top. This time specifically about claiming your personal avatar.

Hmm, that's odd, I can't find anywhere in vb where you can even set permissions to see announcements or not. Is anyone else having this difficulty?

Here's the announcement:

------------------------------------------------------------

Claim Your Personal Avatars NOW!
Hi folks... When we moved to the new forums in September, I temporarily put all of the personalized avatars into the forums here so you could claim them (in case you didn't have a copy of it). But now it's time to remove them from that temporary space so that others don't accidentally use an avatar meant only for you.

That means you need to download your personal avatar to your own computer right now (if you don't have a copy of it or haven't previously done so). How do you do that?

Go here:

http://forums.psychcentral.com/profi...?do=editavatar

Then find the category from the drop-down that says "Old Avatars."

Browse through the list until you find your old avatar. Then right-click on the avatar itself and choose "Save Picture as..." or "Save Image as..." and save the image to your computer.

Then you can go back to that URL above, and choose "Custom avatar" and upload the same picture back into the system.

You need to do this, as we're removing all of the avatars listed in the "Old Avatars" category by January 14, 2009. If you're simply using one of the avatars listed in "Old Avatars," you will find it will go away after this date unless you follow these instructions now.

Thank you for your assistance!

DocJohn

It says these are pre-defined avatars. Are old custom avatars in there?

I too cannot get to the page; then the link you gave cuts the page off so I can't see all the aviators or change to the next page.

See the other thread on this forum about a workaround to see the avatars if you're having trouble moving from page to page...

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
