Could anyone suggest any good webhosts?

We have, ahem, humble demands:

- free
- at least 50 megs of space
- FTP access

already have one at webs.com (and another one at arcor.de, but i don't know german personally hehe), but am trying to upload a file on there and it says it's too big!! Grrr! (it's over 10 Megs)

Just need a storage space for images/videos, in case the computer fails.

(It's just my luck!)

Thanks,
Twilight

I think most people here use Photobucket or a place like that for their pictures?

http://photobucket.com/

Have you looked at something like this? http://www.freewebsites.com/

Getting a domain name isn't that expensive. But I don't know about the size limitations and all; some places worry about bandwidth and other stuff too, even paid places.

GoDaddy is really cheap; http://www.godaddy.com

Have you looked at all the blogging places and what you can upload there, etc.?

thanks perna, i personally dislike photobucket but have used it in emergencies and for pictures that don't have to stay online in the long term, but tonight i also came up with the idea that i should have a back up for my text documents as well.

registered with the blackapple host, which seems to handle pictures and .txt documents well, but won't accept .rtf - and not music either

(not looking to illegally share music, but those were funny sound clips i had recorded. sigh )

if anyone has any more suggestions, they will be greatly appreciated.

until then, i'll resort to CDs and USB sticks...
