I have Java 2 from Sun on my computer. I try to log in to chat, and the box says "sending login information" and the bottom corner says applet loaded, but the chat window never opens. I was going to try and reinstall java thinking maybe I am a few months behind, but system requirements says recommended memory is 64meg. My current system is as follows: Pentium 2, 233mghz (I am pretty sure), Win 98 SE, Explorer 5.5--What can I do for this to work?

Hi Ink, I'm not sure... one thing you might try is to see if it'll load within another kind of browser (e.g., if you're using Netscape, try MSIE, or vice-a-versa). I usually don't find much success in trying to get newer programs to run on older computers, but I'm able to run chat on one of my Windows 95 machines, so it is possible!

I am unable to use the chat function because of the strict firewalls on my server. It also shows applet loaded but then comes up with a message that connection failed due to psychcentral.com being temporarily unavailable (which I know is not the case) or that my server is set behind a firewall or proxy.
As much as I would love to use the chat forum, I am not complaining. I am lucky enough just to be able to post at all.
