Well, complex PTSD is not in the DSM, so I doubt they'd go for it. But I included PTSD in my disability claim (among several other diagnoses) and got approved the first time.

I've got a few dx but was denied and am starting over. My lawyer didn't even have my updated records for the previous year when we went before the judge. I got hosed.

Put all your diagnoses in the paperwork. If you have any physical issues, include those too. All hospitalizations. Basically, you want to make yourself look as crazy as possible, as crass as that sounds.
Thanks for this!

I am in the process of filing my SSDI as well, and I'm just put PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, and Panic Disorder with Agoraphobia.

I don't think C-PTSD is widely recognized beyond active therapists and psychiatrists yet, since it's not even in the DSM V.

Good luck!

I have post-traumatic stress disorder among other things. Social Security denied me twice, but a judge awarded me disability.

Three years later social security renewed my benefits.

Well, update...I got SSDI on my first try for major depression and ptsd. I think the trick is making sure your doctors know that you are filing and to support you. And also make sure you have all your documentation ready to go..

That's great news, Seesaw! My SSDI application is currently with the DD Counselor. I put my Dx's as: MDD, BPD, PTSD, anxiety, panic attacks, hypervigilance, chronic pain, migraines, vertigo, spinal fusion, IBS, among a few others. Did the 16-page behemoth package of SSDI work ability and daily living questionnaires. Waiting on the SSDI doctors appointment for a physical.
