I was diagnosed with cptsd. I am having troubles keeping up with my daily life as a student on my own. I find that I am never on time, always forgettig responsibilities, unable to get through brain fog to complete tasks lately. I am worried I will shut down. I don't think suggestions on how to stay organized will be useful. Are there resources for when a person shuts down? I am worried it will be a scary experience where I would lose everything. Is there something to help if I need treatment and cant make appointments because I'm too far gone?

I have this same thing on and off; more on. Started a while after I began T and we dug into the stuff. Excersize, pets, focused hobbies like art, and journaling have helped me. Find that thing that feels like a 'safe place'. I've found that the more of this that I share with my T, the better it works as a safe place.
Thanks for this!

Yes, I have "brain fog" too. My focus is very poor. I find the only thing that helps is to start working on something and not to stop until it's done.
Thanks for this!

Would anyone happen to know of specific resources/services for those unable to care for themselves in the case of mental illness?

Where do you live? In the USA? Contact Social Services if so. I'm sure they can lead you to some options or the right people to talk to.

I have a similar problem. I almost failed out of school because of it. I can't really offer any other suggestions that haven't been talked about above. I personally find that when I start to slip away. I need to verbally remind myself who I am, where I am and what I have to do.
Hope you find something that works
