Emdr didn't work for me as I didn't have any resources. DBT has been much more helpful.

My therapists see CPTSD as an attachment disorder and have been taking that approach. They encourage me to try being in an intimate relationship. It hasn't been working; I don't have good social skills and there are other complications. From my readings on EMDR, like all treatments, it seems to help some people but it does not appear to help everyone. We all have to try different approaches to find out what works for us and what doesn't. CPTSD is that type of a condition.
