So invalidating

I'm trying to figure out why I feel so rotten and one thing I keep coming back to is how my dad mocks my parenting.

My teenage daughter has a dx of substance abuse & mood disorder as well as an older bf so I don't leave her home alone after dark.

I have an 8 hour mediation coming up next month which will definitely mean I'll get home after dark. I made the mistake of telling my dad my ex said he'd meet our daughter after school the day of the mediation .

My father was like "she's a junior in high school, ha ha ha, what's wrong with you?!" Of course to make matters worse I can't tell him about either dx because he'll blame me for the first & dismiss this second.

I hate having to be so careful with what I say to my father. The reason I even told him is because the mediation is a direct result of his behavior, if he hadn't done what he had done, I would not have to go to a mediation.

So frustrating and demoralizing.

Oh then there's my mom.

She'll get her own thread later . Yes, she did something else after she sent me that awful postcard.

Are you going to counseling? Can you reschedule the mediation?

I am in therapy and I've talked to my brother and attorney since so everything has settled down.
