Lord how this hurts to your very core when a pet is sick. Especially when it's a 17 year old pet. Guess we will be going to the vet soon. Please say a little prayer for us.

We went to the vet and they drew blood to see if she could survive the surgery of tooth extraction. Should know something tomorrow. My other cat died in Oct, I watched her die, it threw me into a downward tailspin.

I had to euthanize my 18 yr old cat Feb 24. It hurts so bad and I still miss her. My hearts goes out to you and I'm sending good vibes your way.

So sorry. I still get very emotional thinking about my cat that died in Oct., flashbacks of watching her die and not being able to do anything about it. Now this cat.....the blood work should be back tomorrow and we should know something. Again so sorry for your loss

I'm so sorry you're cat is sick. I have two cats now. Lost one just over a year ago. It's so sad. I hope you get good news.

My last one I lost a week before Dad's anniversary of death date. It was a hard time bringing up a lot of emotions of not doing enough , should have done better and I let them die type of thoughts. Not sure I'm ready for another one.

Well just keep in mind that 17 years is a long life time for a cat. They don't get that far without being very well cared for.

I don't handle death of anything, or anyone , as easily as most people seem to. It brings up a lot of stuff for me. She has been well taken care of and very loved.

So sorry about your dog. They are family and I guess that's why it can be so triggering when they go. Thanks for understanding.

Did get some good news that her bloodwork is not that bad. They think she could have the dental surgery and be okay, though accidents do happen. When I was growing up I never remember a cat having dental issues. But our cats were outside/inside cats they may have taken better care of their teeth by eating wildlife.

That is great news! So happy to hear this! My older cat needs a tooth pulled. I need to get him an appointment soon. Originally, I had him and two of his liter mates. Lost one when he was only 4 years old due to Kidney failure, the other at 7 years old due to stroke. It was so sad.

I think infection from bad teeth is what killed my other cat. Went into renal failure, still breaks my hear and I can't talk about it without crying.

I'm worthless at this death thing...seen too much of it! 2 years ago I lost a cat of 16 years...now the last 2 years it's been a sick dog...first went paralyzed...3 days later I broke 3 chest bones and couldn't get around, but had a sick dog now...then he got bleeding cancer tumors, then a bladder operation, has no control over bowels, pee....yes, it's just like having a baby with fur on it's butt.
People wonder why I'm nuts!

So sorry to hear about you and your dog. Yes, they are better than family most of the time. People that don't like animals concern me. How could you not love that unconditional love from them?

At least there's good new for your cat. One of our cats had an abcessed tooth and she ended up having a systemic infection. It was hard on my daughter as she was taking care of the cat.

Well that's what happened to the other one, Hoping this one can be avoided. Feel so helpless when the fuzzy kids are sick
