Thank you so much for posting this. I just finished reading it and it spoke directly to me.

I agree, it spoke to me as well and that's why I thought I would share it with others. Pete Walker has such a wonderful understanding of CPTSD, though trying to read his book has been overwhelming for me, so I have to take a little bit at a time.

I agree with you about having to take it a bit at a time. I start reading and it starts being real to me, and will quickly take me away if I'm not careful. The analytical part of me gets so determined to figure this out and pushes too hard. It's very stealth though and I don't realize it sometimes until it's too late.

I've read so many books by many authors. His honesty and realness draws me to his writing and his sharing of his experiences validates what I've been through and what I am reaching for. It gives me hope.

Have you been to his website? Pete Walker, M.A. Psychotherapy
Lots of good information. He's just a really nice guy too. When I first started to look into CPTSD I read a lot but very little sunk in. It was like reading the words with them having no meaning, or maybe my mind went some where else. Maybe it was denial, not really sure.

I have both of his books, and both are partially read. I think I actually need to start each one over from the beginning at some point. I have them on my Kindle and I have a habit of skipping around in them so I'm no longer sure what parts I've read and which parts I haven't.
