As with most holidays it can be a struggle for some to celebrate and even be triggering for some. I still have my mom and I'm very thankful for that, though I know I need to be more involved with her before it's too late. Actually she my only reason for going on. Maybe that's why I in a way fear being around her , that she will leave and I will go with her.
But if you have a reason to celebrate with your mom please do.

Trace, my mom will probably not be us 48 hours from now. She doesn't want to live anymore. I am very sad about that, of course. But I have to go on. There are too many young people to help, guide and educate. When the time comes will you consider helping a kid, or kids in honor of your mom? I hope so, you have a lot of wisdom to impart. Shalom.

I'm so sorry your mom has reached this point. You will be in my thoughts and prayers, and I'm sure others here will support you in your loss. I will support children and adults in anyway I can. I do that in honor of my mom now, why wait until they have passed on to help people? She raised me to be a good person and to be respectful of all people, on all levels. For this I live my life to honor her. It's would be easier to sit back and watch the pain of others and just dwell on my own issues. But part of healing our issues comes from helping others, I think. You are a very kind and caring soul and a good man. You have done very well to take care of yourself.

Trace, sounds like you have a great mom. I know you have done well by her. I know that when I help others I sleep better. Helping others is great for our spirit. The best part of us comes from the sacrifices of good (great) people who came before us like your mom, and my mom. Shalom.
