Just wishing I wasn't in the space I'm in right now.
The inner critic has taken hold and I'm having a rough time disarming it! It's totally devastating to me to be where I'm at right now. ![]() |

I guess it's a good first step, recognising it as the inner critic. My T encourages me to tell mine to take a hike.

Inner critic isn't welcome in my cave. I've found it originates from certain "sub optimal" others especially from childhood. I frequently tell it to take a hike.

I am trying to do that! But sometimes it's especially virulent and pays me no mind! I feel so small and vulnerable right now! Such a failure ... As if all the hard work I've done for all these years has been for naught! ![]() |

Sorry it is tough for you right now. My inner critic gets the better of me sometimes. When I can motivate myself, going out for a walk helps, as does listening to music. But mostly, I just remind myself, that when it's had it's say, it will become quieter again.
You're not a failure, it's just that the voice can get too loud sometimes. I know it can be hard, when you're feeling small and vulnerable too. I guess at such times, that critical voice sees it's chance to have a rant. Hoping it takes a hike soon and gives you a break. Take care, you don't deserve to be hearing that stuff.

I have struggled with that myself so I know how frustrating it can be. I would get triggered and have no idea what triggered me and I hated that. It has take me a lot of effort to slowly figure out what triggers me and why. Patience is very important to have with self.
