Does anyone have information or action to help an infant who has witnessed trauma?

I've read it somewhere but I can't remember where I saw it.

It is a situation with a 5 month old witnessing parents in very aggressive interaction. The child has been affected by what it saw.

Are there things that can help the child recover from being in that state?

That's a pretty broad based question but I don't want to say any more.

I've read somewhere EMDR works on babies.
Thanks for this!

My understanding is that trauma disorders come from traumatic experiences without restoration and they don't develop when there is care and support following the trauma. So maybe love and care and protection from future trauma is enough.
I know my trauma disorders came from having multiple traumas with no restoration or care afterwards just the expectation that i would pretend nothing was wrong.
Thanks for this!

I'd encourage you (or the baby's parents) to call and ask a professional. I really think it's a question a professional will answer without an appointment. I think they will help by giving guidance.

You are an angel to be concerned and reaching out.

Hugs to you and to the baby.

Thank you! The little one is my grand daughter.

She is usually with me during the day. I tell her every day that she is brave, strong and loved. She smiles and I now that she hears me.

I pray that it helps to counteract what she saw and experienced.

The parents are working together to make things ok for her (the little one) and I pray that she is shielded from it.

I would have never thought that this would have happened.

Life is life though.

Please pray that God's plan is what prevails.
