Just what are they? I've heard that our therapists have them. Are we, the clients suppose to have them with the therapist? How about personal relationships?

I would say yes, boundaries are important in any therapeutic relationship as well as with personal relationships. As for what they are, I think it depends on the individual, especially in personal relationships, where in therapeutic relationships there are professional boundaries that are highly recommended if not mandated.
