I don’t know why the doctors don’t want to help me. About 7 doctors, maybe more, have prescribed meds . I’m allergic to all meds except for benzos.

I really don’t like begging them for a referral to a therapist.

I’ve asked most of those doctors for a referral. The responses have varied, from patronising rudeness to just saying “no”

I live in the uk.

Do you ask them why they won't refer you?

Thank you Wild Coyote for your reply

A few “reasons” have been given including “you’re not a priority as you’re married”

I doubt if n.h.s. Therapy would help me anyway, a therapist I paid for said “some people are beyond help” . No idea what he meant.

It’s “nice” to be told how “worthless” I am. I’m starting to really think they were “right all along” The “System” over here “has to prioritise” ... I don’t blame them for not wanting to help me. Just sometimes it hurts

If I had cubs they may have helped me. But I doubt if I would have felt helped
by them, I’ll never know now

I don’t turn up at doctors surgeries in “crisis” ... I avoid them whenever possible

Maybe if I can ... I don’t know ...I could try a private therapist. I gave up on doctors really quite a while ago

You're right; the UK system is erm not perfect by any means.

Your experiences are really awful. No good therapist would say those things.

If you can afford a private course, I'd definitely go for it. It's liberating, not feeling you're begging for help.

Is it something you feel you want try?

These are not wise or nice people. Why should you value their opinion? You are not worthless. You are very valuable here and to many people here that know and love you. Yes, looking into a private T may be your best bet. The MH system in the USA is just as bad, especially when it comes to veterans

T's are just people, some good, some bad. Just need to get those identified and stay away from the bad ones.

Fuzzy, there are so many meds you cannot tolerate, maybe therapy is the most helpful course?
Can you see a private therapist?

Yes, the NHS doesn't cater for those who have anything but mild symptoms or those who are in immediate unsafe situations, or under 18. Everyone else seems to have to just has to get on with it. You are worthy fuzzy, it is the system that is not.

That's very sad. Go in during a crisis then. Get their attention.
