How do you deal with triggers? I suck at that sometimes. I mostly try to avoid them.. maybe why I was labelled “Avoidant” - ugh grrrr...

I’m ok, just wondering if anyone has any insight. Grounding techniques?
I guess I “should” know these grrrrrrrrr I dislike Shoulding myself.
In fact I will not engage in that grrrrr
And that dog is barking, again, maddening. But I’m grateful for much in my life

It would be almost my bed time but at the moment I have to keep the same hours as that dog.. it’s so hot all our windows are open

And that dog sounds so much like the maternal unit’s dog ggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Ah, I think it may have stopped for now.. it “could be a lot worse” ...

Hugs and respectful regards

I have a lot of grrrr moments, I get triggered very easily too. Feel like I need to wrap myself inside a bubble wrap. I’m sorry I don’t have any advice, just want to let you know that you’re not alone

I am learning DBT, and many of those skills help deal with triggers (self soothing, distress tolerance, mindfulness, etc). In terms of facing my fears though, I don't feel ready to "just use dbt." However I may try. Perhaps put some headphones on with the dog barking. Grr. I feel your pain with that one.

Hi Fuzzy Bear

You are not alone. I have a cat that likes to meow a lot when he wants my attention. If I am busy my head feels like it will explode and a rush of negative energy takes over. I try to breathe but its not much help. I hate it when I snap at him to be quiet but I start to feel I am being sucked into a black hole.

I too would be grateful for tips to deal with this.

Much love to you
