My family doctor referred me to a neurologist for ptsd. He ordered me to see a Neuro psychologist and have a MRI done. If anyone has done any of this before please let me know and has it been helpful.

Dear devondegenero,
I have never seen a neurologist or neuro psychologist but I have had an MRI before. It was a very fascinating experience. I hope the steps you are taking will be most helpful to you! Sincerely yours, Yao Wen |

Well, I have had MANY MRIs done on my body (specifically my head and spine). Honestly, the only thing they did was tell my that my head is normal.
I'm not sure what an MRI could do for ptsd, though. I wouldn't think that a mental condition like ptsd would manifest in physical alteration of the brain's structure, but I might be wrong. Your doctor might just want to rule something out??? |

I actually have seizure symptoms, too, but they're actually caused by an obscure type of migraine. They'll probably put you through an EEG if the MRI comes back normal (hopefully it does). EEGs suck, btw. And they're dang expensive (mine was around $12,000, so make sure you have good insurance if they order one for you). Good luck, though. I hope they get you figured out quicker than they did me.
