Hello, lorna. A caregiver doe not abnegate the right to her/his own life. Are there other siblings that could and should help? Can your parents afford to pay for some help to come in so you can take some time off for yourself?

Medicare may have some help: http://www.medicare.gov/caregivers/

NAMI NH has an online guidebook (108 pages): Guidebook for Older Adults (PDF File)

Please take care of yourself too.
Thanks for this!

Well from your responses I know its not an easy job taking care of myself and my parents. I have one other sibbling and they are basically told what I can't do and they step , which is good in a way but then Im left managing them too LOL. I do have my dad in some classes and parents have 2 hours a week outside help. They are of the age group that don't like outsiders coming in, and i keep saying you should use their help to a max. I am sorry to vent, just felt so low when i first posted. You don't know how much you guys continue to help me, with loves Lorna
